1. Who we are

Marshall Relay Limited (“we”, “us”) is a private company incorporated in Hong Kong, company number 80211853. We publish the apps listed below and operate the websites appmarshall.com and marshallbe.online. We are the data user under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and the controller under the EU and UK GDPR for the information described in this policy.

3. Quiet Escape and Capy Resort

Your progress and cloud save

Our games need no account and ask for no personal details. Your progress, settings and purchase status are stored on your device. Capy Resort keeps them only on your device, and they are deleted when you delete the game.

Quiet Escape can also keep a copy of your progress in the cloud, so you can continue on a new phone or after reinstalling the game:

• iPhone and iPad. The game saves a copy in your iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. If you are signed in to Game Center, the game shows your Game Center nickname and picture, and you can sign in from the game’s settings.
• Android. If you sign in to Google Play Games, the game saves a copy in your Play Games account using its “Saved games” feature. Signing in is optional. If you already use Play Games on your device, it may sign you in automatically when the game starts.

The copy contains only game data: completed episodes and best times, the episode in progress, your hint balance and the selected language. It is stored by Apple or Google in your account under their own privacy policies (Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy). It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. When you use Game Center or Google Play Games, Apple or Google also process your player name, picture and player ID to provide these services.

You can turn off Cloud save in the game’s settings at any time. This deletes the cloud copy, and your progress stays on your device. On Android you can also delete the game’s data in the Google Play Games app.

Advertising

Both games are free and show ads through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Quiet Escape offers optional videos that give hints, and shows full-screen ads at some moments, for example between episodes, plus one ad in the main menu. The optional “Remove Ads” purchase turns off all of these except the optional videos. Capy Resort shows only optional videos that give in-game bonuses.

Every ad request in our games is marked as child-directed and for users under the age of consent, and is limited to G-rated content. Under Google’s policies, this means the ads are not personalised. To deliver ads and prevent fraud, Google may process your IP address and approximate location, device and app information, and your interactions with ads, as described in the Google Privacy Policy.

On iOS, the game asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency before ads load. You can change your choice in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Purchases and permissions

Quiet Escape offers two optional purchases, “Remove Ads” and “10 Hints”. Capy Resort has no purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and we never receive your payment details. The games only need network access for ads, purchases and, in Quiet Escape, cloud save. They do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or location, and contain no analytics or crash-reporting tools.

4. Marshall VPN

Marshall VPN has its own detailed privacy policy at appmarshall.com/privacy, which applies to that app. In brief:

• No account is needed. The app creates an identifier on your device, which is used to issue access and to keep track of your plan.
• The sites you visit, DNS queries, traffic content and IP addresses are not logged. For each account we keep only what is needed to run the service, such as its plan, expiry date, traffic totals and when it was last online.
• The free version shows ads through Google AdMob, with Google’s consent form where required. A plan removes the ads.
• Plans are one-time purchases through Apple or Google and do not renew automatically.
• The app is not directed at children under 13.

5. Websites and email

Our websites appmarshall.com and marshallbe.online are hosted by GitHub Pages; marshallbe.online is also delivered through Cloudflare. These providers process your IP address and basic request data to deliver and protect the sites. We do not use cookies, analytics or tracking on our websites.

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to keep a record of our correspondence.

6. Use and sharing

We use information only to provide our apps and website, deliver purchases, show ads that keep our apps free, provide support, keep our services secure and meet legal obligations. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, your consent where the law requires it, and legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We share information only with Google for advertising, Apple and Google for app distribution, payments, sign-in and cloud save, our hosting and service providers, our professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information or share it for others’ marketing.

7. Storage and retention

Information in our apps stays on your device until you delete the app. A cloud copy of your Quiet Escape progress stays in your iCloud or Google Play Games account until you turn off cloud save in the game or delete it from your account. Emails are kept as long as needed to help you and for our records, generally no longer than seven years. Our service providers may process information outside Hong Kong, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Children

Quiet Escape and Capy Resort are suitable for all ages. We collect no personal information through them, and their ads are child-directed as described in section 3. Signing in to Game Center or Google Play Games is optional and is managed by Apple or Google, including their parental controls such as Screen Time and Family Link. Marshall VPN is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to a data protection authority. In Hong Kong this is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We respond to data access requests within 40 days. Because our apps store data on your device, deleting an app also deletes its data. To delete the cloud copy of your Quiet Escape progress, turn off Cloud save in the game’s settings, or on Android delete the game’s data in the Google Play Games app.

10. Security and changes

We protect information with encrypted connections, secure on-device storage and limited access to our systems. We may update this policy when our apps or the law change. The date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
